In 1980, Grateful Dead keyboardist Keith Godchaux dies in Marin County from injuries sustained in a car accident two days earlier.

The upper reaches of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988  read this way: #5 – “The Flame” (Cheap Trick), #4 – “Roll With It” (Steve Winwood), #3 – “New Sensation” (INXS), #2 – “Pour Some Sugar On Me” (Def Leppard) and the #1 song in the U.S. is… “Hold On To The Nights” (Richard Marx). C’mon. You gotta be kidding!
