In 1955,”(We’re Gonna) Rock Around The Clock” is #1 in the U.S. The song, which failed to crack the Top 20 in its initial run, is re-released after it is used in the opening credits of the film Blackboard Jungle. It’s the first Rock n’ Roll song to top the pop charts.

In 1958Johnny Cash leaves Sun Records for Columbia Records (were he stays for over 25 years).

In 1963,the Four Seasons reach #1 with “Walk Like a Man”.
